S. R. Taylor [1982] wrote a book that summarized the Moon as we knew it at the start of the quadrennium. Since then lunar science has continued (perhaps to the surprise of many), and provided us with many new ideas and “facts” about the Moon and its past and present environment. Lunar science is not moribund. Some aspects have received insufficient attention despite the potential for advances.
