This subject is extremely broad and touches on many fields of geology and geophysics, some of which are covered in other sections of this report. Our focus is the measurement and interpretation of heat flow. However, information from other fields is noted where it appears to be of interest, but no attempt has been made to search these related areas. Blackwell 's [1971 a ] report for the previous quadrennium is our point of departure.
