Particle size distribution and composition of iron‐titanium oxides have been measured in four samples of volcanic rock from the Lesser Antilles. Magnetic hysteresis properties are predicted for these samples on the basis of available data for synthetic analogues, and the predictions are compared with laboratory measurements of the same parameters.
