A study of the temporal variations in the horizontal plane ellipticity of Pi2 pulsations recorded at a low latitude station reveals both nocturnal and annual variations. Ellipticity decreases from positive to negative through the night; the greatest decrease occurs during November and the smallest during May. The variations exhibit trends similar to those in plasmaspheric electron density and total ionospheric electron content.
