Six U.S. states have received a combined $127 million to assist them in mitigating impacts of oil and gas development and production on the Outer Continental Shelf, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced on 20 December. The funds, which are congressionally appropriated grants from the Coastal Impact Assistance Program, will help with coastal research and monitoring, controlling erosion, and restoring habitat.
