John Geissman, professor of Earth and planetary sciences at the University of New Mexico, began his 3‐year term as an Eos editor, with emphasis on geomagnetism and paleomagnetism. In an interview, Geissman said, “As editor, I will strive to be as proactive as absolutely possible. I have always felt that Eos is a fantastic forum for science information. As soon as it arrives in my mailbox, the contents are skimmed and much of it is read. How better a way to communicate science, of timely interest, to your colleagues than Eos ”
