Holt, Rinehart and Winston, a textbook arm of Harcourt Brace Company, is publishing two new science textbooks that include something unusual in their margins. The books have icons and codes that refer students, teachers, and even parents to a hand‐picked and regularly updated selection of relevant Internet sites. Other publishing houses soon may follow suit.
