AGU is launching a new fellowship program to encourage communication and learning between pre‐college science teachers and AGU scientists. The program, called STaRS, for “Science Teacher and Research Scientist,” plans to provide at least 200 fellowships for teachers to participate in research conducted by scientists and for scientists to participate in classes conducted by teachers. The program will begin in December 1999 and information about applying for fellowships will be announced next year.
