A climate, vegetation, and soils data set for the United States, assembled by the Vegetation/Ecosystem Modeling and Analysis Project (VEMAP), is now available on CD‐ROM and online. VEMAP is an international, multiinstitutional collaboration with the goal of evaluating the sensitivity of ecosystem structure and function to altered climate, CO 2 , and other forcings.
