A hybrid finite element‐boundary integral (FE‐BI) simulation technique to treat narrow slot antennas etched on a planar platform is discussed. Specifically, the prismatic elements are used to reduce the redundant sampling rates and ease the mesh generation process. Numerical results for an antenna slot and frequency selective surfaces are presented in order to demonstrate the validity and capability of the technique.
