We present the first mercury measurements made in African waters utilizing ultraclean collection and state‐of‐the‐art analytical techniques. Concentrations of total mercury (Hg T ) in streams entering Lake Naivasha, Kenya are similar to values obtained from runoff water in the Northern Hemisphere.
