An introduction to the oceanography report

This Oceanography Report marks a dramatic departure from past volumes. The past three reports included between 10 and 15 papers covering only physical and chemical oceanography. The papers were 15–20 pages in length and written as comprehensive summaries of the past four years' research in a specific area of either physical or chemical oceanography. The reference lists were extensive and complete. These papers provided excellent starting points for graduate students and oceanographers wishing to become current on the research being done in one of the areas covered.
