A method has been developed for merging GLORIA and Hydrosweep data into single combined sidescan‐type images, by adding a shaded relief representation of the seafloor topography to the near‐nadir part of the GLORIA image, which is usually poorly insonified. Several examples are presented, taken from a variety of seafloor terrains.
