Castine Workshop on Subglacial Thaw and Ice Dynamics; Castine, Maine, 24–25 May 2011 New radar data on the distribution of water beneath the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets motivated a meeting of theoreticians, ice sheet modelers, and field glaciologists. The workshop was supported by the University of Maine Climate Change Institute (CCI), the University of Kansas Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS), and the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Office of Polar Programs.
