How often do research papers discuss measurement uncertainty or present error bars in observational or statistical analysis figures? In an attempt to address this issue using space physics as an example, we conducted a survey of 102 observational Journal of Geophysical Research‐Space Physics articles that were published over a time span of 7 months. Unfortunately, the majority (56) did not discuss measurement uncertainty or present error bars in observational or statistical analysis figures.
