At its 14 December 2007 meeting, the AGU Council adopted four position statements following months of work by panels of experts that also included input from the AGU membership. AGU formulates and maintains a number of position statements that reflect the concerns of the Union; none of these extends beyond the range of available geophysical data or the norms of legitimate scientific debate. Last week AGU released two of the four statements. This week AGU is releasing a third statement, “Meeting the Challenges of Natural Hazards.”
