Methods for determining horizontal anisotropy in transmissivity from pumping tests have generally been limited to where the pumping well can be assumed infinitesimal. This work presents a Laplace transform solution to the problem of flow to a finite diameter well in a horizontally anisotropic aquifer with wellbore storage. It is also shown that the solution is adequately approximated by an equivalent isotropic model with a corrected effective well radius for moderate anisotropies (i.e., T y / T x < 25).
