If the stabilization of greenhouse gas concentrations is to be achieved, it will come through a fundamental transformation of the global energy system over the next century. This book, edited by Robert Watts, is a collection of papers presented at a 1998 meeting to consider technologies and strategies that might achieve stabilization. Because it is being published 4 years after the meeting, some of the material is dated. Despite this, the book provides a picture of the fundamental aspects of most technologies being considered as part of carbon emission mitigation strategies, conveniently collected with references in one volume.
