U.S. legislation to establish the Twenty‐First Century Water Commission would help to address the critical issue of the future of the nation's water supply, U.S. Rep. John Linder (R‐Georgia) told a House of Representatives Resources subcommittee on 1 April. The bill, H.R. 135, would establish the commission to develop recommendations for a comprehensive water strategy to address the nation's future needs. H.R. 135 builds on legislation (H.R. 3561) which was introduced during the last session of Congress, and it now awaits consideration by the full Resources Committee.
