Optimizing Reservoir Resources: Including a New Model for Reservoir Reliability is a fascinating blend of text and monograph with an unusual range of material. The first part is clearly textual and the second half reports on some very interesting research done for the Institute of Water Resources of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The successive chapters are evolutionary; one leads to another and offers a base for the subjects covered subsequently Part I contains five chapters on relatively established topics in water resources systems. These are the “text” chapters in the text‐monograph combo referred to above.
