A new method for the production of valienamine with the microbial degradation of acarbose is described. The microorganism was screened by our laboratory and identified as Stenotrophomonas maltrophilia . After separation, valienamine was analyzed with UV, IR, and 1 H and 13 C NMR. The yield was more than 60%.
