In the last decade, considerable efforts have been made to develop health promising nutritional\udsupplements. Quercetin is a plant-derived bioflavonoid which is recently gaining scientific\udinterest for its antioxidant free radical scavenging effects and anti-inflammatory properties.\udThis wonder flavanol exhibits therapeutic potential in various ailments like cancer, coronary\udartery, asthma and alzheimer (neurodegeneration) diseases. Additional clinical uses include\udtreatment of inflammatory conditions like gout, pancreatitis and prostatitis. It has been\udextensively studied for its gastroprotective effects, anti-obesity action, immune booster,\udreducing risk of cataract and reduction of diabetic complications. The present review briefly\uddiscusses about biological activity, mechanism of action and therapeutic potential of quercetin\udin prevention and mitigation of diseases
