Objective: To calculate the effect of methanolic extract of Curculigo orchioides (C. orchioides) on\udrate of wound contraction and estimation of various biochemical parameters such as superoxide\uddismutase, lipid peroxidation and nitric oxide levels in the granulation tissue of diabetic and\udnon-diabetic mice.\udMethods: The methanolic extract of C. orchioides with the concentration of 200 mg/kg and 400\udmg/kg body weight was induced through intraperitoneal injections in diabetic and non-diabetic\udmice. The results were compared with control and metformin induced diabetic and non-diabetic\udmice.\udResults: The results showed that root tubers of C. orchioides were a potent source of antioxidative\udphenolic compounds that counteract with reactive oxygen species responsible for delayed wound\udhealing. The root tubers of C. orchioides significantly increased the level of superoxide dismutase,\udnitric oxide and decreased lipid peroxidation in granuloma tissue of diabetic mice.\udConclusions: The extract of root tubers of C. orchioides increases the rate of angiogenesis and\udimproves antioxidant enzymes status that eventually leads to faster wound healing in diabetic\udcondition. However, further studies are needed to explore the molecules present in C. orchioides\udthat lead to faster wound healing
