Acute urinary retention is a urologic emergency, which has a meaningful impact on patients' quality of life. The compression of retrovesical hematoma is a rare cause of urinary retention. We report the presentation and discuss the differential diagnosis of acute urinary retention due to retrovesical hematoma in a 57‐year‐old male patient.
