The Kansas Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (KMRDDRC) received its initial core funding from the National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development in 1966. Throughout its history, the KMRDDRC has supported systematic investigations into the biological and behavioral causes and consequences of mental retardation and related developmental disabilities coupled with investigations into prevention and treatment.
