The data concerning the abortion rate in Russia for the past 5 years are presented. They demonstrate that abortion has been the main means of birth control. At present, the government, the Ministry of Public Health, obstetricians and gynecologists, and public organizations are making every effort to introduce medical and non‐medical means of contraception.
