patients, comparing with normal women who visited our hospital due to pregnancy in 2010. Furthermore, the cases of spontaneous abortion were examined regarding gestational age, years after transplantation, donor, immunosuppressant, blood pressure, anemia and serum Cr. Results: Of the 34 pregnancies, 9 pregnancies (26.5%) were terminated due to exacerbation of renal function (n =2) or social reasons (n =7). Of the remaining 25 pregnancies, 8 pregnancies (32.0%) resulted in spontaneous abortion before 10 weeks of gestation. The rate of spontaneous abortion is significantly higher than the rate in normal women (9%) (p = 0.0005). We investigated that the reason might be the anxious of renal function. However, all of 17 pregnancies(68.0%) remaining viable after 10 weeks of gestation resulted in the birth of a healthy baby, although 5 premature deliveries to 29, 33, 35–36 weeks of gestation were included. Conclusions: The present study clarified that the incidence of spontaneous abortion is significantly higher in women following renal transplantation. Nonetheless, if pregnancy can be maintained more than 10weeks, the women who have undergone renal transplantation appear to have chances of a successful delivery similar to those of normal women. The result brings hope for women received renal transplantation.
