The clinical manifestation of infection with HPV is determined by multi‐ple factors which include the type of HPV, the type of skin infected, the status of host immunity and smoking. The incubation period for HPV is 3 weeks to 8 months. While there is no specific anti‐HPV therapy, local topical therapy, excision, cautery and laser vaporization have all been used with a range of success rates.
