This was an excellent learning experience. It made anatomy and physiology take on new meaning; it also gave me a great appreciation for the value of teamwork. I believe this experience will aid me in caring for the surgical patient. This was, indeed, a learning experience and one which I will long remember. … I feel this is a vital part of nursing and learning … it is only by actually being in the OR that one begins to realize the enormity of and the varied tasks facing the nurse in the OR…. Overall, I feel these teams in the OR suites showed conscientious attention to detail, and fine, precision teamwork was evident. As for my personal feelings about the observation, it was, indeed, a most valuable part of my training—I wouldn't trade those two days for anything.
