• CURRENT DATA FROM perioperative practice areas can help determine appropriate ratios for the skill mix of employees in perioperative settings. • FOR THIS SURVEY, managers were asked to report staffing ratios and other facility information to identify current trends. • A RATIO OF TWO RNs to one surgical technologist was most commonly reported. This is consistent across several factors, including practice area, number of ORs, and number of procedures. AORN J 81 (May 2005) 1041–1044.
