• THE EFFECT OF a preadmission videotape presentation on patient satisfaction in an outpatient surgery department was explored in this research study. • A SAMPLE OF 141 Caucasian and Hispanic patients took part in the study. Results indicated that patients who viewed the preadmission patients videotape did not differ significantly in their report of satisfaction from those who did not view the videotape. • THE STUDY ALSO found that the satisfaction of nurses in the project varied significantly during the study period.
