Keratocystic odontogenic tumor (KCOT) is recently considered as one of benign odontogenic tumors due to its unique clinical, histopathological and biological features. In this work twenty cases of keratocystic odontogenic tumor were stained by perlecan, syndecan-1 (CD138) and Ki-67 to study the biological behavior of the tumor. From the results of the study, all the cases of keratocystic odontogenic tumor express perlecan, syndecan-1 and Ki-67. These results concluded that over expression of ki-67 with decrease in perlecan and/or syndecan-1 may be markers for the aggressiveness of keratocystic odontogenic tumor
