ResumenActualmente el glaucoma es la principal causa de ceguera irreversible a nivel mundial. En muchos países como el nuestro se desconoce la prevalencia real de la enfermedad, y a nivel mundial se estima que existirán para el año 2020 aproximadamente 5.9 millones de ciegos bilaterales a causa de glaucoma primario de ángulo abierto; esta ceguera es prevenible por lo que deben de identificarse aquellas personas que debido a sus características pudieran estar en riesgo, ubicándolas bajo el diagnóstico de sospecha de glaucoma.AbstractGlaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide.
