The main goal of this paper is to initiate and study many different approaches to rough set approximations based on a bitopological space, generated by a general relation. The suggested models help in decreasing the boundary region of any vague concept in an information system. Some bi-rough concepts are introduced and their properties are obtained. Proved results and several examples are given for a comparison between the introduced bi-rough concepts and the traditional rough concepts. Finally, a comparison among all proposed approaches is concluded in a diagram and counter examples are provided
