Chemoradiotherapy (CRT) has become the mainstay of treatment for tonsillar squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Pre-CRT tonsillectomy is frequently performed, mostly for small primary tumors (T1-T2). However, the benefits of pre-CRT tonsillectomy remain unclear.
