dementia to AD. Conclusions: Non-dementia specialist physicians are central to diagnosis and care thus consideration should be given to their support and training. Identification of dementia type is improved with follow-up doctor visits. Ascertainment of AD type of dementia is more common among patients receiving dementia specialist health care, facilitating benefit from effective treatments for AD when available. Low rate of timely follow-up care and dementia specialty care, particularly among Hispanics and Asian, may lead to worse outcomes in these populations compared to other racial/ethnic groups.
