(range 50 to 96). A repeated measures ANOVA analysis showed cognitive measures of attention, reasoning, working memory and episodic memory to be sensitive to age-specific decline. On both accuracy and speed measures a significant linear decline was observed with medium to large effect sizes. This pattern was consistent across all cognitive measures and was particularly marked for measures of speed. Differences in gender and education are also reported. Conclusions: This study provides a granularity of data for age-related cognitive decline that is unprecedented in the majority of clinical studies to date. The specific declines in individual cognitive domains, and association to key demographic characteristics, contributes to the growing body of work providing insights into cognitive ageing and the complexity of the decline trajectories.
