between cumulative BP exposure and cognitive function was not different amongWMH groups. Conclusions: In young adults without clinically evident cerebrovascular damage, long-term exposure to high BP during young adulthood associates with gait and cognitive impairment in midlife. Furthermore, gait function may be more vulnerable to cerebral small vessel disease in midlife than cognitive function. In this context, the predictive value of gait in relation to early cerebrovascular damage should be determined in future studies.
