ter. CVR in the region of WMH 0.1460.15%; significantly (p<0.001) lower than normal appearing white matter. CVR was significantly positively correlated with CBF (Figure 2a, r1⁄40.46, p1⁄40.006) and MMSE (r1⁄40.48, p1⁄40.004). While only marginally significant, magnitude of CVR was negatively correlated with WMH burden (r1⁄4-0.27, p1⁄40.07). Importantly, while negative CVR was not significantly correlated with other measures, total voxels with negative CVR (indicative of vascular pathology spread, excluding CSF) was significantly correlated with MMSE (Figure 2b, r1⁄4-0.69, p<0.001). Conclusions: We have demonstrated the feasibility of a simple breath-hold BOLD MRI paradigm to evaluate CVR and its association with other vascular factors as well as cognition.
