tacted first authors of all included papers. Results:We found 124 references and included the 18 papers which met criteria. In our meta-analysis of data from four studies that collected both paid and family caregiver rated quality of life, we found no significant differences in their global ratings. We will discuss at the conference how factors associated with family caregiver and paid caregiver proxy perspectives of quality of life differ. Conclusions: Family and paid caregivers have different perspectives in proxy rating quality of life but their overall ratings do not differ significantly, on the instruments which have to date been reported. Comparing ratings by different proxies gives important information about the validity of instruments, as well as increasing our understanding of how life quality of people with dementia is viewed by families and staff.
