showing widespread alterations compared to WM lesion load. The pathologic basis of this new metric is unknown, but we speculate that it reflects vascular integrity based on its relationship with WM lesions, as well as Wallerian degeneration due to upstream gray matter atrophy. Future work will assess limitations of these procedures as well as advance the implementation through addition of partial volume correction to account for regional atrophy.
