the EQ-5D scores and the number of caregivers, but not with age, relationship, cohabitation and contact time with the caregivers. There were no significant correlations between the J-ZBI scores and the Neuropsychiatric Inventory Questionnaire, Mini-Mental State Examination and activities of daily living scores of the patients. The strong correlations of theEQ-5D scores with the J-ZBI scores suggest the importance of providing care that targets the patients’ quality of life to reduce the caregiver’s burden. Conclusions:The goals of treatment for elderly people with dementia are to delay the progression of dementia, to manage BPSD and to reduce the caregiver’s burden at the same time. Despite the limitation that this was a cross-sectional study, we showed that caregiver’s burden is strongly associated with the quality of life of patients.
