analyzed the correlation of plasma MIF levels with spatial learning and memory impairment in the AD mouse model. Results:ELISA analysis also showed that plasma MIF levels were significantly elevated at an early age of 2 months old and the elevation was in an age-dependent manner. The statistical analysis revealed highly negative correlations of plasma MIF levels with spatial learning and memory abilities as assessed by both Morris water maze test and step-down test. Conclusions: Our data demonstrated that increased levels of MIF in plasma occurred at a very early stage in the AD mouse model, and the high correlation of plasma MIF levels with cognitive impairment, suggesting that the change of MIF in plasma could serve as an early biomarker for AD.
