informal caregivers to understand and aid their demented relatives. Part of the development process has been a collaborative research on topics that relatives find most important to have access to on the understAID platform. The study was conducted after the same protocol in the three countries and involving a total on 120 families. The study consisted of both an interview, and a 7-day dairy, where the informal caregiver answered questions in areas of daily tasks, social activities, behavioural and cognitive activities. The total number of questions asked was 62, and the questionnaires’ used were self-elaborated with questions from selected scales in the area of daily living and behavioural problems in dementia. At the interview, the caregiver rated the questions in relation to frequency, severity and discomfort. During the dairy entries, the caregiver rated the questions in relation to severity and discomfort. In order to select questions (topics) the level of discomfort that every situation caused on the caregiver was taken into account. Discarded questions were those, in which the number of caregivers that chose the "Nothing" option was higher than the total number of caregivers that chose any of the three other options ("Some", "Quite a lot" and "A lot"). The answers were then classified as "Highly relevant", "Relevant" or "Not particular relevant" based on how frequently the answers were chosen in the category’s "Nothing", "Some", "Quite a lot" and "A lot". Analyses were performed on both national and global data in order to make comparisons among the three nations. A selection of 27 topics from the interviews and 24 topics from the dairies were passed on in the project for development of the platform.
