lation (CN-EMCI-LMCI-AD), AVLTDR was associated with increased [18F]AV45-UR in the temporal (R-STG; t1⁄4-7.13), frontal (MFG; t1⁄4-7) and posterior cingulate cortex (PCC; t1⁄4-6.86). Modest association between AVLTDR and [18F]AV45-URwas observed when only CN (inferior temporal gyrus; t1⁄4-4.32) or EMCI (IPC t1⁄4-4.4) groups were analyzed separately (not for LMCI or AD). Additionally, AVLT delay was associated with declines in [18 F]FDG-UR in brain areas associated with delayed recall such as hippocampus (L1⁄46.8; R1⁄46.6), entorhinal cortex (t1⁄46.66), precuneus (t1⁄47.15) and PCC (t1⁄48.22) across the entire population. Regional association between AVLTDR and [18 F]FDG-UR was only observed in EMCI (PCC; t1⁄43.93) when the groups were analyzed separately. Conclusions: In the entire study group, memory deficits are clearly linked to synaptic depletion in memory-specific circuits rather than regional amyloid load. Moreover, memory variability observed within EMCI, LMCI and AD population could not be entirely explained by amyloidosis or synaptic depletion.
