Background:The source of communication between human beings is in the language and when an obstacle for this communication it is necessary for interdisciplinary work to remedy this difficulty. This article describes the therapeutic process and making art with a patient diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia with Structural and neurocognitive assessment. Aiming to capitalize on its potential with the language and the body by facilitating the improvement of health and quality of life. The theoretical and methodological perspective was at Irene’s and Jung Marchesan. The methodology with art therapy techniques such as music, dance and painting, used in speech therapy sessions opportune to the verbal and nonverbal expressions and a greater understanding of the inner world of the patient. The therapeutic process to be considered as a whole that breathes and it is expressed through gestures and bodymovement.With art, you can paint and move to transform the life of the dark colored stiffness in movement. The results were: the speech with art therapy support the feasibility of a better comprehension and expression for patients with dementia resulting from an injury frontotemporal intention of providing communication, imitation and gestural, physical mobility and balance, perception body, improving muscle relaxation in oropharyngeal mobility and improved communication between therapist and patient. In this sense, the relevance of this work is to contribute to studies on the speech and explore various possibilities of using art therapy as therapeutic support.Methods: The theoretical and methodological perspective was at Irene’s and Jung Marchesan.
