ing excellent compliance in placebo group. After 6 and 12 months mean changes in MMSE-14 (one of the MMSE items) scores were larger in fish sausage group than in placebo group, respectively. After changing to fish sausage containing DHA+EPA, there was not a significant difference in mean changes in MMSE-14 between two groups. Taken together, these results suggest that dietary supplementation with DHA+EPA alters the risk of cognitive decline with aging. Conclusions: In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trail we observed protecting effects of DHA+EPA supplementation against decline of cognitive function with aging in elderly people with very mild dementia.
