receptor activation. Moreover, autophagy and lysosomal pathway seem to be involved in As effects. Preincubation of cells with microalgae oil protected retinal cells from As cytotoxicity. Conclusions: P2X7 cell death receptor seems to be an interesting therapeutic target for beta-amyloid-induced degenerative diseases. Docosahexanoic acid modulates P2X7 receptor activation. So, associated to others P2X7 inhibitor, DHA has interesting biological properties which open new perspectives in therapeutics applications.
