cluding 76 unaffected controls. All received retrospective ratings of premorbid personality. Results: Highly significant correlation between abnormal personality factors (solitary, anxious, dependent) and the prevalence of AD. Rates of personality disorder in the same nursing home population of 9.3%, and this featured a significantly larger proportion among females with dependent personality disorders. Any diagnosis of personality disorder was a significant predictor of AD. Conclusions: Premorbid personality is poorly researched in populations with Alzheimers. It emerges as a predictor and it remains a significant presence in populations with AD particularly females in the dependant category.
