P2‐114: Study of verbal fluency to animals in patients with diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia

Background: The study was performed in the ambulatory of Cognitive Disorders in the Medicine School of Catanduva in the period among the years of 2000 to 2008. Methods: A four hundred seven patients with complaint memory déficits will go submmit a clinc, neurological and neuropsychological evaluation. The diagnosis of the type of dementia wil go estabilished with the clinical and complementary exams. The diagnosis of Alzheimer disease wil performed in 152 (37,3%) patients, 57 (14%) vascular dementia, 31 (7,6%) vascular and Alzheimer dementia, 59 (14,5%) with no dementia and 108 (26,6%) wth other types of dementia ande mild cognitive impairment. The objective of the study is to verify the production of verbal fluency to animal in the alzheimer disease and vascular dementia and .and your relation with mildand moderate intensity. Results: The Table 1 to show the verbal fluency to animals and the intensity of dementia to Alzheimer type. Verbal fluency average to animals in DA of mild intensity is: 7,26 + 0,46 Verbal fluency average to animals in DA of moderate intensity is: 4,22 + 0,75 The Table 2 to show the verbal fluency to animals and the intensity of vascular dementia type. Verbal fluency average to animals in VD of mild intensity is: 6,86 + 0,84 Verbal fluency average to animals in DA of moderate intensity is: 3,5 + 1,1 Conclusions: The production of semantic verbal fluency to animals is similar to Alzheimer disease and vascular dementia and the average is seven to eight in the mild intensity and three to four in the moderate intensity
